Poseidon System Description
- The Poseidon system consists of a powered, trunk-and-branch fiber optic backbone providing secure direct access to offshore assets via subsea optical add-drop multiplexing (OADM) branching units and branch cable connections.
- The Poseidon cable system will provide redundant, full-wavelength connections from diverse shore landings to each offshore asset connected to a branching unit. This dedicated-wavelength architecture provides complete operational independence between offshore assets and maximizes network security, reliability, and availability.
- Poseidon has eight fiber pairs and is capable of operating at the latest data transmission rates.
